It is recommended you receive a COVID-19 test if you are an individual that is noticing mild symptoms or severe symptoms, or if you have been around others who have tested positive recently, and you are not showing signs meaning you may be asymptomatic.

Rapid COVID-19 Testing
A rapid antigen test for COVID-19 looks for proteins that are caused by the COVID-19 virus. This easy and simple test is completed within minutes and produces results quite fast depending on the number of patients ahead of you.
 
PCR Testing
PCR stands for a polymerase chain reaction. This specific test detects genetic matter from the specific organisms that are within the body, including the virus.
 
Antibody Testing
Antibody tests detect the antibodies that are found within the blood that is found to cause COVID-19 infection.
 
Each test will take a different amount of time to provide results; however, the PCR test is usually showing turnaround results from the lab within 2 to 4 business days; and the Rapid COVID-19 test turnaround period could be anywhere from 4 hours to 24 hours after.

COVID-19 symptoms can take on average between 4 to 5 days before finally showing. If your symptoms do not show, but you have been around individuals that have recently tested positive for COVID-19, it is suspected that you are asymptomatic.

COVID-19 can have long-term health effects and complications which can damage many things including the brain, heart, and lungs. Most of the world has been infected with COVID-19, and often recover completely within a few weeks after. However, there are a few who even with the mild version of the symptoms, continue to experience symptoms even after they have recovered.
 
It’s often seen that older individuals and individuals with serious medical conditions are most likely to experience lasting COVID-19 symptoms, even younger individuals may experience these lasting effects from the initial infection.
